Title :
Leaky-feeders for cordless communication in the office
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Results are presented of leaky-feeder propagation research carried out at 200 and 900 MHz in a typical office environment. The author demonstrates how the unknown factors in an equation defining the received signal level anywhere in a building can be derived, thereby enabling simple, quick installation of a cordless communications system with a known coverage area. The measurements illustrate in practice the slow decay of the signals along the length of the cable, giving the ability to tailor the radio coverage area by routing the cable as desired
