Abstract
A new algorithm for calculating the load flow in a power system is proposed. The algorithm avoids the shortcomings of the time increment relaxation and waveform relaxation methods and incorporates their strong points. Its computational efficiency is at least one order of magnitude better than that of the Newton-Raphson algorithm. In addition, its storage requirement is at least five times lower with computational accuracy guaranteed
