Abstract
Evolution of intelligent electronic devices has made the automation of distribution system reliable. The data is obtained at substation level and delivered to master control center using various communication techniques. This paper describes the application of information technology in substation automation equipments to be communicated are identified by specific address and data is transferred using Internet. TCP/IP communication protocol is used for data acquisition and control. Proposed technique is tested on 11 KV substation.
