Abstract :
In this paper we propose new set of key performance indicators-KPI suitable for annual performance analysis of IP network in which routers are connected by digital radio-relay systems operating at frequencies above 70GHz (E-Band). They are suitable for performance prediction during network planning. In E-band rain attenuation has predominant effect on radio-wave propagation, and it cause temporary link capacity reduction or outage. At network layer the method use simplified network model that considers finite reaction time of routing protocols to link capacity variation. At physical layer, the method exploits new dynamic rain attenuation simulation method that replicates specified year level statistics of rain intensity, number of rain events and rain advection vector. As an example, performance analysis of IP services with three levels of interactivity: VoIP, video streaming and file transfer on test network is given.
