Quickaction Feeder Protection Based on Wireless CDMA Communications

Abstract :
To improve the characteristic of present feeder protection, this article suggests a new quickaction feeder protective scheme. This scheme is a kind of permissive overreaching transfer trip (POTT) pilot protective scheme. To setup communication among feeders\´ protective relays, a wireless code division multiple access (CDMA) technology is applied. Unlike normal wireless mobile CDMA communication people nowadays live with. This CDMA communication is an "immobile" one. Some "immobile" communication stations (CSs) are installed into feeders\´ protective packages now existing. Some macro cell base stations (BSs) are selected to install special devices. After some modification, this communication scheme can well satisfy the need of this quickaction protective scheme. To prove this, theoretic and practical analysis is presented
