Abstract :
High user density events (special events) are seen in mobile operators´ radio access networks almost every day. Such events have strong influence on users´ perception of the network quality. It is necessary to estimate capacity of the network by joint analysis of radio interface and baseband capacity resources in order to evaluate its´ quality. Results obtained for UMTS RAN and different users´ traffic profiles have been fitted by appropriate probability density function in order to provide basis for evaluating necessary resources to support required baseband capacity at the special events.
