In this paper using concept of ontological engineering to consider which task should be conducted or careful before building an online e-learning community system. The online e-learning community system is an intelligent system that integrated e-learning, network community, and agent can automatically in performing the mechanisms of interaction and collaboration in a network community environment. However, how to build a complete instructional system design (ISD) before users or learners learning on online e-learning community are very difficulties. Because, before uploaded knowledge or contents of each teaching subject on online e-learning system, rarely managers or designers consider building a suitable ontology as an input, thus even there was a beautiful or friendly e-learning system also can not obtain a good learning result on online e-learning environment. Thus, this paper considers about above problem uses concept of operation management (input-process-output) into first phase of system design and development, and then uses ontological engineering approach building common domain knowledge before system design and development for the online e-learning community system.
