Abstract
Direct and inverse analytical models of the switched reluctance motor (SRM) based on finite element method (FEM) results are presented in the paper. The models are obtained using three flux-current characteristics, which can be calculated from 2D-FEM or obtained on a test bench. The models can also be simplified for use in real time control. The model accuracy and versatility in characterizing the SRM behavior have been verified through simulation and test results.
