Abstract :
Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) has become a very interesting and attractive topic in wireless communications during the past few years. This was possible due to dramatic increases in reliability, coverage and capacity as compared to single antenna solutions. Therefore, this paper deals with a introduction to MIMO systems, what MIMO systems are, how MIMO systems can be used and to present the results obtained by simulating a real communication channel using: 8 antennas for the transmitter, 6 antennas for the receiver, the distance between consecutive transmitter/receiver antennas of λ/2, the distance between the transmitter and the receiver of 10000 m and an operating frequency of 2,4 GHz.
