Abstract :
The Japanese electricity market is characterized by some peculiarities that reflect the Japanese energy situation and power system configuration. For this reason, a number of market participants are now developing the IT infrastructure for trading floors in house with the support of Japanese software suppliers. This presentation focuses on the special needs of market participants in Japan and on the Mitsubishi approach for developing trading-floor solutions for the Japanese market. After a brief introduction of the Japanese market, the presentation will explore the following key issues: daily workflow for market participants and IT requirements to support this workflow, functions supported by the trading floor and software tools that have been implemented. Basic infrastructure and the integration process is needed to build an efficient trading floor is discussed.
