Abstract :
This paper studies the effect of pole and slot combination on the noise and vibration of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Two PMSMs which have different pole and slot combinations and same performances are designed. First, using the electromagnetic finite element analysis (FEA) and equivalent magnetizing current method, the local forces of these two motors are calculated. And then, the vibration due to the local forces will be analyzed by mechanical FEA and compared. Finally, according to the experiment results, the effect of local force on the vibration and noise due to the different pole and slot combination will be discussed.
