Abstract :
Snow surface albedo is important to climatological and hydrological investigations. Using data acquired with the Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) over Mammoth Mountain, California, the authors derived snow particle size from which surface albedo was estimated. Quantitative measurements of temporal and spatial variations in snow surface albedo will permit accurate parameterization for climatological and hydrological studies
