Abstract :
This paper describes the identification of low-order linear models for two power systems modeled in a standard transient stability program. The approach used in the paper is the eigensystem realization algorithm/observer (ERA/OBS) identification method. The identified models retain the modal characteristics associated with lightly damped electromechanical modes.
