Abstract :
Voltage source converter (VSC) based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) technology is a kind of newly developed HVDC transmission technology. Based on analyzing the fundamental functions of VSC-HVDC, a dynamic mathematic model based on energy conservation principle is developed in this paper. The process of energy conversion and dynamic operation mechanism are analyzed. Theoretical analysis and the control system are validated by simulation on software PSCAD/EMTDC
