Abstract :
The author outlines the strategy for and structure of international recommendations relating to basic and supplementary services in an ISDN (integrated-services digital network). The studies performed by CCITT are outlined, and relationship with the work of other international standardization bodies is included. The principles of telecommunication services supported by an ISDN are discussed. Bearer services, teleservices, and supplementary services are briefly described
