Abstract
This paper describes an investigation of direct torque control (DTC) for an electromagnetic synchronous motor (ESM). It is mathematically proven that the increase of electromagnetic torque in an ESM is proportional to the increase of the angle between the stator and rotor flux linkages if the exciting current is kept constant. The simulated results verify the proposed control and also show a good dynamic characteristic
