Abstract
We propose a reconstruction method for helical computed tomography, which compensates for the motion artifacts resulting from patient breathing. The method takes into account a motion-vector field determined from a 4D uncompensated image data set. The accurate calculation of the motion-vector field and its use in the breathing-motion corrected reconstruction algorithm results in a significant improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio.
