Abstract
A Δ-Σ modulator (DSM) simulator developed to aid in rapid evaluation of the design tradeoffs among different DSM topologies is discussed. Circuit nonidealities are parameterized in the simulator by using behavioral models for the loop filter and comparator. The accuracy and speed of the approach are shown to compare favorably with those of circuit simulation. It is shown that the transient response of a switched-capacitor integrator can be approximated with some accuracy with a straightforward set of explicit equations
