Abstract :
This paper describes one solution for adjustment and modification of GCC compiler front-end to be used with compilers for embedded processors. This project was developed as an effort to provide open source front-end for RTCC compiler library. Modified GCC translates code until certain point, and dumps the IR. RTCC parses that IR and proceeds with further compilation. It is shown that adjusting GCC frontend for embedded processors is not as simple as modifying target description.
