  • Abstract
    This paper presents comparative characteristics and a realization of IEC 60870-5-101 and IEC 60870-5-104 industrial protocols, presently very common in the modern SCADA for power distribution systems. They are implemented within dScada, a solution developed primarily for education and research. Along with those protocols and their realization at the control side and remote side, a set of underlying IEC 60870-5 standards is briefly described. Finally, paper ends with the results of the testing conformity to the standards and interoperability of developed protocols handlers.
