  • Abstract
The use of emulators in the WSN design process offers the advantage of precise timing and cross layer simulation. The former due to the fact that each instruction executes in specific machine cycles, and the latter because the emulated machine code contains both application and protocol stack code. Emulators used in sensor network simulation are bounded to specific hardware. Adding different modules of hardware (RF´s, MCU´s, FPGA´s) to these simulators-emulators is a hard and time consuming task. In this paper we present a generic emulator, component of a general WSN simulator architecture [1][2], capable of emulating any MCU/FPGA/DSP chip functionality completely described in XML file format. Moreover, the design of an efficient agent controller for the proposed multi-agent simulation system architecture is illustrated for GPGPU/CUDA systems.
