Abstract :
This article uses the relative market power hypothesis to analyze the relationship between the China´s rice seed market structure and performance of agricultural production between 2003 and 2008. The results show that the China´s rice seed market has evolved into a competitive market after the market-oriented reforms in China seed market. The rice seed market concentration decreased significantly. The market share has a positive effect on the level of agricultural production. The Herfindahl index has not significantly affect the level of agricultural production, which is consistent with the relative market power hypothesis.
