Abstract :
For a class of third-order nonlinear systems, a one-dimensional model reflecting dynamic properties of the original system is proposed. Properties of this map, called the squeezed spiral map, are investigated. Dynamic phenomena encountered in the original system are reproduced by the model map with very good accuracy
