Abstract :
Zadeh´s (1965) extension principle is applicable to functions defined upon elements of a set. It can be generalized to relations. Any crisp relation can be extended to a function on sets using crisp set theory. Two canonical methods for extending relations upon sets are presented. Equivalence between different extensions is studied. So are cutworthy and strong cutworthy extensions
