Abstract
High voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission systems complement the characteristics of existing AC power networks. One big advantage is the ability to control power between the sending and the receiving ends. This paper describes the development of a microprocessor-based dedicated protection unit for HVDC power converter protection from DC line-to-ground faults
