Abstract :
DLPI, Data Link Provider Interface, is a standard interface between data link service providers and users, which is based on the STREAMS mechanism. It implements three kinds of communication service at the data link layer: connection-oriented service, acknowledged connectionless service, and unacknowledged connectionless service. The paper gives a brief introduction of DLPI, and describes the communication service and primitive provided by DLPI, at last an application example is given to illustrate its application in network communication
