Abstract :
Global warming is a major problem the modern world has been facing at the present time. Hybrid Electrical Vehicle (HEV) provides significant solution to this. On the way to design a more sustainable, high performance hybrid electric vehicle, as a stepping stone in first level series hybrid electric vehicle has been designed using a conventional car. This has been adopted as a quickest path to make a first level experimental vehicle to be used in future as a trainer vehicle to students at the college in Power Electronics laboratory. Using the existing drive train has been proposed to be inserted and connected in tandem. The basics of design principle have been used for sizing its elements to meet the proposed specifications of the vehicle and its driving cycle. The current source inverter has been simulated in Power Electronics Laboratory to be used in series hybrid electric vehicle.
