    Using Willems´ (1989) model for dynamical systems, G.D. Forney and M.D. Trott (see IEEE Trans. on Inform. Theory, vol. 39, 1993) studied the dynamics of group codes defined on Z. Convolutional codes are examples of such group codes. The purpose of the paper is to study convolutional codes from a dynamical system point of view using the dynamics of group codes defined by Forney and Trott
