Abstract
To many of us, 2011 marks a challenging and inspiring year. This is the year of mobility revolution fuelled by new UX concepts, new sensing technology and new social media trends; advocated by major players from all economic sectors; and more importantly driven by our determination to find answers to the unprecedented difficulties that we are facing - major natural disasters, social uprising, poverty and ever-widening “digital divide”. It is destined to be the starting point where many changes can be traced back to. The year 2011 also marks a milestone of both ICPCA and SWS communities when the two conferences forged a single forum that draws closer the computer scientists, socialists, psychologists and economists to jointly investigate how we can harness technology for the benefit of ourselves and our societies.
