Abstract :
The paper presents a new single stage three level ac-dc converter that performs power factor correction and voltage regulation in a single stage using two separate controllers. The two controllers are independent of one another. The proposed converter provides a better voltage regulation and a near unity input power factor compared to the conventional converter topologies. The paper explains the operating principle, the converter design and control method of the proposed converter. The simulation results of a 15W model are also presented to confirm the feasibility of the new converter.
