Abstract
Prefilter delay and multiply (PFDM) devices have been shown to be useful in clock recovery and signal detection. This is of particular interest in spread spectrum modulated signals of unknown chip rate whose presence must be detected. The PFDM receiver is well suited to this task. The overall performance and utility of the FDDM receiver (the PFDM frequency domain counterpart) is compared and contrasted with known (or simulated) performance results associated with PFDM devices
