Abstract :
These years, network technique developed quickly. As an important part of the entire network, metropolitan area network, which is called MAN for short, becomes the focus of research gradually. DQDB protocol is a famous distributed communication protocol for MAN. As an IEEE protocol, DQDB has the characteristics of simpleness and easily implementation. But it also has some disadvantages. Inspired by DQDB, we have put forward a linear optical network protocol, which is called LONP for short. For this new protocol, we gather most resources of our group to do ulteriorly research. In this paper, we puts forward the frame format of the protocol, defines the relationship between states conversion and frames, and do some simulant experiments. The result of experiments indicates that LONP has better transmission efficiency than DQDB. Basing on the same transmission lines, we get favorable effect just by improving the protocol.
