Abstract
Learning process which is continuous should be linked with knowledge and its useful management. Knowledge originates and is applied by the minds of knower. KM integrate, systematize identifies, manage and sharing knowledge enabling to achieve the objectives of the organization. Applying KM in the higher education especially in distance learning will develop the process and help the higher education institution to reach beyond boundaries by distance education mode and create advantage. This paper will highlights some of the application of KM in education and includes advantages, challenges and KM acting as tool for development of teaching learning process.
