  • Abstract
    Parallel bus has been used to accommodate data handling modules for data acquisition systems. In order to develop modular system, we introduce serial data link for data link from front-end chips to back-end computers. The advanced TCA is a new standard for serial back-plane. It provides reliable power supply system and cooling system. The advanced TCA back-plane provides dual star point-to-point serial data links or full mesh serial data links. Dual star connection is useful for data acquisition system. Star connection from a readout controller module provides data readout. Another star connection from a trigger controller module provides trigger signals. The SpaceWire protocol, which is a standard for space applications based on IEEE1355 DS-link protocol, is implemented for a star connection for data readout. The 500MHz flash ADC system is being developed on the advanced TCA system
