Abstract :
This work presents the analysis of frequency selective surfaces (FSS) with Dürer´s pentagon pre-fractals patch elements. The FSS structures are composed by a 2-D periodic array of metal pre-fractals elements on a dielectric layer. The parametric analysis is performed using the Method of Moments Ansoft Designer software, in order to investigate the effect of the fractal iteration number and of the element periodicity on the FSS transmission properties. The FSS structures are proposed to act as band-stop spatial filters with interesting features such as compactness and broadband or dual band responses.
