Abstract :
In this paper, a method of compression based on Fisher-Information is introduced which is used in TDOA estimation application. The bit allocation of the method is based on lagrangian Multiplier, which is not computationally efficient, so we have proposed a new method for bit allocation which is more computationally efficient and its result is very close to the result of the lagrangian Multiplier method. In addition, by sending only the phase of the DFT coefficients instead of the real and imaginary parts of the coefficients we have better accuracy in TDOA estimation at the same compression rate.
