Measurement of variations in the neutron background at sea using a Neutron Scatter Camera

We present results from recent neutron background measurements at sea with the neutron scatter camera. We successfully deployed and operated a Neutron Scatter Camera onboard a cargo vessel. We present measurements of angular and temporal variations in the neutron background at various geomagnetic rigidities between Oakland, CA and Honolulu, HI at sea as well as at various locations within the cargo vessel itself. We also present results of extensive detector calibration studies made to reduce systematic measurement errors.
