Abstract
This paper presents a methodology for consideration of the nature of the power flow in a transmission network with significant levels of wind generation. A DC load flow approach is adopted to calculate the level and direction of power flow in response to varying levels of wind generation. The approach is applied to a section of the Irish transmission network.
