Abstract :
The expurgated bound is extended to the generalised Viterbi algorithm (GVA) over the binary input AWGN channel and is shown to agree well with the simulation result. Moreover, we show that the expurgate bound for the GVA is also exact at zero-rate for uncorrelated codes
