  • Abstract
This study covers a new generation of polyphase power convertors in which the semiconductors are rearranged into a double parallel assembly of five (or seven) branches, and the conversion transformers are three/five or three/seven-phase connections derived from Leblanc and Scott assemblies or from a series rearrangement of single-phase transformers. The number of secondary electrical phases being odd, but not a multiple of three, confers the advantage of restoring the first harmonics of line current (or of DC voltage) to higher levels, while increasing the mean value of the rectified voltages
