  • Abstract
Based on the general geometrical relationships referring to the relative geometry Earth-Sun, this paper presents the analytical modeling and numerical simulations regarding the minimum stepspsila number, which are needed in the optimization of the tracking control program for a pseudo-equatorial PV tracking system. Firstly, the tracking cases with 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 orientation steps are simulated and analyzed, then, there are comparatively analyzed the energetic contributions of the pseudo-equatorial tracking vs. the azimuthal tracking approached in a previous paper. The obtained results allow highlighting the useful conclusions for the design of the optimal control program for each tracker type.
