Abstract :
A new correlation velocity measurement based on geomagnetic data is proposed, which aims at satisfying requirements of autonomous navigation system with long-endurance and high precision. Firstly, definition and principle of geomagnetic velocity measurement are introduced. Then, geomagnetic signal process and correlation is researched. Furthermore, the simulation is made with MATLAB on the geomagnetic map of some area. The simulations show that geomagnetic velocity measurement is an effective and feasible autonomous method, where error will not increase as time accumulates. In conclusion, the method proposed in this paper provides a new idea for underwater vehicles to implement automatic navigation with long-endurance and high precision.
