Abstract
The CMS electromagnetic calorimeter, made of about 76000 Lead Tungstate scintillating crystals, aims to achieve an extreme precision in the energy measurement of photon and electrons. Main challenges, measured performance and commissioning studies for the start up of LHC collider will be discussed.
