Abstract :
A new position sensorless control technique for switched reluctance motor drives is presented in this paper. In the proposed approach, the information of inductance variation is obtained from voltage pulse measurement of a nonconducting phase winding. The steady state and dynamic performances of the technique are comparable to the conventional approaches with position sensors. The basic principle of the technique is presented, and simulation and experimental results are provided in the paper to validate the proposed approach
