Abstract :
With the emergence of powerful computation platforms such as grid, multi-core, and cloud, intelligent nodes and agents in a distributed environment are important for the successful deployment of many complex applications. This work examines the inherent design and implementation issues as well as challenges in distributed intelligent systems. Surveys and important works are introduced from a historical perspective. Applications that employ the distributed intelligence approach are presented and discussed.
