Abstract :
A frequency hopping 16-QAM LMMSE turbo equalizer with trellis coded modulation precoder is suggested used for an unknown and time-varying frequency-selective channel. The channel is tracked by linear interpolation between training sequences in the start and end of each frequency hop block. The encoders are selected for optimum low SNR performance, and the performance is measured with regard to the number of training symbols and frequency hops.
