Abstract :
In this paper, we have studied image transmission over Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network based on IEEE802.15.4 MAC Protocol. The focus of the research is on Packet length, in order to attain high level of throughput. IEEE 802.15.4 is a low rate MAC Protocol and maximum data rate of 250Kbps. Physical channel error rate is a significant parameter influencing Throughput. Channel error cause packet retransmission. If Bit Error Rate is high, Throughput will severely decrease. Packet length is a substantial parameter in WMSN. We have revealed the more packet length, the more Throughput. In contrast, if the packet in large length is damaged, high volume of data will be lost. Therefore, in this paper, we represent optimal packet length in IEEE 802.15.4 protocol in order to enhance throughput and performance of Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network. We have simulated our work using NS-2 simulator and extract required results. Finally, our paper will offer a suggestion in order to enhance throughput of IEEE-802.15.4.
