Abstract
Prior study in IT governance have a limited emphasis on corporate governance level. The core of IT governance is motivation, shareholders should use several incentives to encourage general managers to work for the interests of shareholders, we review incentive literature and interview with 11 company and recover 5 incentives in IT governance, data was collected from 114 general manager in Wuhan, China, we use structural equation modeling convince rewards incentives, residual rights incentives, reputation incentives, achievement incentive, restriction incentives have impact to the overall incentives in IT governance, we also design a valid IT performance evaluation system and assure more incentives will lead to higher IT governance performance.
