Abstract
Methods of word processing (WP) and optical character recognition (OCR) are considered. A classification of typing errors and methods of their detection are presented. It is shown that combining simplified WP and OCR gives the same effect as using each sophisticated method separately. Prevention should be made on input level by visual checking, according to the WYSIWYG principle. The new devices of this kind have been simulated on an IBM PC
