Abstract
Different silicon detectors have been designed and fabricated based on the silicon monolithic telescope concept. The surface vertical diode, the ΔE stage, is only about 2 μm thick and shows very good charge collection properties. Circular anodes with a diameter of about 10 μm allow to obtain cylindrical sensitive volumes of micrometric size. This micrometric diode has been proposed as a silicon microdosimeter with the proper corrections for the chord distribution and the tissue equivalence. The lineal energy spectrum has been successfully compared with TEPC spectra and the dose-mean lineal energy with data from literature. The present lower limit is about 10 keV μm−1 fixed by the electronic noise.
